Fish Tagging Program

At Reel American Charters, we participate in multiple fish tagging programs. As the legal size limit of fish is changed every year, some of the once trophy fish must be released. We participate in the Narragansett Apex Predator program for tagging sharks. We also participate in the American Littoral Society's fish tagging program, and tag striped bass over 35 inches. All tags that are used have a matching information card, and if ever re captured the angler gets notified. Recently a friend got notified a bluefin tuna which was tagged years ago in cape cod, at 100 pounds or so, was later caught again in Spain and was over 1000 pounds!
